Raw 'til 4

     Raw til 4 is a vegan lifestyle created by Freelee the Banana Girl where you can only eat raw fruits/vegetables until 4 pm. At 4 pm you can eat different foods other than just uncooked fruits and vegetables keeping it still vegan.

     This topic is a very broad topic so I will spend up from three to four blog posts talking about it, but for now I will focus on my opinion of the diet and some of the question I had.

     Honestly my first reaction was "You can't survive off of only fruits and vegetables that's silly. She is probably malnourished", but as I kept looking into it it surprised me how possible and good for you this lifestyle was. 


  1. Doesn't eating that much fruit give you too much sugar?
  2. If you eat so many bananas won't you be eating to much potassium?    
  3. Are you getting enough vitamins?
  4. Where do you get your protein?
  5. Is this diet worth all the money to buy so much fruit?    

1.Even though you are eating a ton of fruit all the sugar is natrual sugar not processed so it actually goes through the body quite quickly.

2. This youtuber is well known for the many bananas she packs into her diet eating up to 30 bananas a day.  It is impossible for an average human to eat so many bananas that they get too much potassium

3. Fruits contain a lot more vitamins than we give them credit for. Yes we would have to eat more of them but with the right amount they contain everything you need and more.

4. This question corresponds with number 3. Fruits contain plenty of protein so there is not much to worry about there.

5. This lifestyle, if you couldn't already tell, takes a lot of fruit to continue at a healthy rate. Fruit is not the cheapest thing in the world and that is one of the most difficult things about this lifestyle. Many people do not see that this diet contains enough health positives to out weigh the amount of money to keep it up. Yes I see their point of view but in my opinion this lifestyle is more than worth it.

  1. I have watched a few of FreeLee the Banana Girl videos. I just have always thought it was kind of extreme to eat so many bananas, but if it gives you healthy benefits it must be worth the try. I personally could not commit to this diet, because I don't really like bananas, my mother could not afford to buy so much fruit, and I would get tired of the constant taste of bananas. However, I will try to be healthier by eating a variety of fruits and vegetables, because I do believe that eating raw fruits and vegetables can give you the necessary nutrients without the. fats and preservatives.
